Our Team
Sage Capital was co-founded by Wesley M. Jones and John W. Lemkemeier, bringing together a track record of experience and success in mergers, finance and management.
Sage Capital is supported by the investing partners comprising the Sage Capital Investors Roundtable III. All individuals, our investing partners provide a wealth of experience and judgment, in addition to capital, in connection with Sage Capital’s investments (see Investors).
Wesley Jones
Prior to co-founding Sage Capital in 2004, Wes Jones worked for over twenty years in the investment banking industry, starting as an associate in the merger group of Goldman Sachs and advancing to senior positions in mergers, corporate finance and product development as a managing director of The First Boston Corporation (now Credit Suisse), The Blackstone Group and Bear Stearns. After returning to his hometown of Saint Louis he served as an adjunct professor of finance at the Olin School of Business at Washington University.
Wes is a graduate of Amherst College and the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He currently serves on the boards of Store Supply Warehouse, K. Hall Studio, DIT MCO International, Bulk Tank Holdings, Mohawk Lifts Quest Foodservice Management and Livers Bronze. He is also on the board of directors at Janet McAfee Inc., the City of Ladue Non-Uniformed Employees Pension Plan, the Danforth Leadership Council, BioSTL and Washington University’s Center for Accounting and Finance Research.
Wes is married to Nancy Ylvisaker and has two children.

Michael Hollo
Michael Hollo
Michael Hollo joined Sage Capital in 2024. Prior to joining Sage, Michael was a partner at Moneta Group, a privately held registered investment advisor (RIA), where he led the alternative investment practice on behalf of family offices. Before Moneta, Michael was a vice president at Winona Capital, a private equity firm based in Chicago, IL, and an associate at River Branch Holdings, a merchant bank focused on investment banking for financial institutions and asset management for family offices.
Michael is a graduate of Princeton University and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He currently serves on the Young Friends board of the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center. Previously he served on the Young Professionals board of The Magic House and the Young Friends board of The Muny.
Michael is married to Amy Hollo and has two children.

John Lemkemeier
Spencer Finney
Prior to co-founding Sage Capital in 2004, John Lemkemeier was president of Contec, Inc., a manufacturer of consumable products used in clean rooms and other critical manufacturing environments. He began his career as a mergers and acquisitions attorney at Bryan Cave.
John is a graduate of Princeton University and Harvard University Law School. He currently serves on the boards of Store Supply Warehouse, K Hall Studio, Bulk Tank Holdings, Mohawk Lifts and Livers Bronze. He is also on the board of directors at the Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital, the Muny (chairman) and the Opportunity Trust. Previously he served on the boards of Randall Manufacturing and Revenue Cycle Partners Holdings, The Saint Louis Brewery, Check Technology Solutions LLC and the boards of trustees for John Burroughs School and Community School (president).
John is married to Mary Lemkemeier and has three children.

Spencer Finney joined Sage Capital in 2005. Prior to joining Sage, Spencer worked for The Northern Trust Company, providing retirement plan administration and valuation for large corporations.

Spencer is a graduate of the University of Richmond and The Olin School of Business at Washington University. He currently serves on the board of the Saint Louis Brewery, Villa Duchense (former Chair) and is a member of the advisory council of Mission St. Louis.

Spencer is married to Jodie Finney and has four children.

Max Morrison
Max Morrison joined Sage Capital in June of 2024. Nick is a graduate of Saint Louis University.
